Adam Ferguson's teaching technique is influenced by the concepts presented in Stephen Wangh's The Heart of Teaching. He is well versed in various acting techniques ranging from Practical Aesthetics, Uta Hagen, Stanislavski, and others. He also utilizes the physical acting theories of Jerzy Growtowski, Laban's effort actions, and Viewpoints.
Adam has taught courses at UCLA and Cal State LA. In 2020 he received the Association for Theatre in Higher Education/ KCACTF Innovative Teaching Award for his exploration with students to connect the psychophysical theatre theories of Jerzy Grotowski and Mary Overlie with practical theories taught by Uta Hagen and David Mamet.
In addition to his acting and teaching, Adam is available for monologue and audition prep coaching as well as Acting Technique workshops. Adam has helped many actors prepare monologues for college admissions and professional auditions. He has worked with high school students, college students, and actors in the industry.
